The Autoclaving Biohazardous Waste Guidelines apply to any autoclave that is used to decontaminate biohazardous waste and include required monitoring and recordkeeping instructions. If you use an autoclave to decontaminate biohazardous waste, you need to read and follow these guidelines and fill out a site-specific SOP (template SOP available). Any personnel operating the autoclave needs to have documented training on the site-specific procedures.
