Intended audience

This course is required for University personnel who work in Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) laboratories at the University of Washington (UW). Training is required initially, and retraining is required annually for UW faculty and staff enrolled in the UW BSL-3 Program.

Description

This course teaches BSL-3 biosafety principles and practices, roles and responsibilities, risk assessments, BSL-3 facility operations and management, BSL-3 laboratory practices, biosafety cabinet practices and procedures, donning and doffing PPE, waste management requirements, occupational health requirements, emergency/incident response procedures, and safety and security procedures.
