Hearing Conservation Training Online
Intended audience
This course is required for University personnel who work in locations with or are otherwise exposed to high noise levels that may exceed 85 decibels (dBA) averaged over an 8-hour period. Those exposed to above 85 dBA averaged over 8-hours must also be enrolled in the UW Hearing Loss Prevention Program (HLPP). Retraining is required annually.
Description
This course teaches the impact of noise on hearing, the warning signs of hearing loss, and the noise exposure limits that necessitate hearing protection. It also introduces learners to types of hearing protectors, including their benefits and proper use.
