Asbestos <1% and Lead Work Practices Initial
Intended audience
This course is required for University personnel who perform maintenance and alterations work on building materials that contain lead or <1% asbestos in wallboard systems. Training is required initially, and retraining is required annually.
Description
This course teaches procedures to reduce exposure to wallboard systems containing <1% asbestos and/or lead-containing materials during disturbance or cleanup. It covers types of regulated materials, health impacts, work practices, personal protective equipment, and waste disposal. This course addresses PCB regulations but not removal. Abatement or cleanup of other asbestos-containing materials is not included.
