Intended audience
This course is required for University personnel performing maintenance or custodial services in buildings with asbestos-containing material that could be disturbed or contacted during work. This training is required initially, and Asbestos Awareness Refresher training is required annually.
Description
This course teaches what asbestos is, health effects of exposure to asbestos, how it may be encountered by UW personnel, work practices and procedures to prevent exposure, asbestos management at UW, and regulations and responsibilities.
