Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) Operator Safety
Intended Audience
This course is required for University personnel who operate Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (vehicle mounted aerial lifts, manually-propelled or self-propelled scissor lifts, and boom lifts). Retraining is required if evaluation and observation of the operator indicates retraining is necessary.
Description
This course teaches the inspection, application, and safe operation of vehicle mounted aerial lifts, manually propelled, self-propelled, and boom-supported elevating work platforms. Units are responsible to ensure personnel are trained on the specific equipment they will be using, including the manufacturer's operating and maintenance manuals.
Note: Units work directly with training vendor to arrange training. For assistance in finding local vendors that offer training tailored to your equipment, please contact EH&S Training. Units are responsible for tracking training completion for their personnel for this course.
